 "Archbishop James UsherCollapse )

Hey gang,
First of all I'd like to give a shout out to our new online members, and invite them to introduce themselves (or not! no pressure!). "Orejen" and "Iamtheeiceworm", Welcome!
In other news, Lydie and I went to the 24 hour Sci-Fi marathon this past weekend in lovely Columbus, Ohio at the Drexel Gateway. It was a blast! It was only my second time attending, but I definitely plan on returning next year.
They played the original King Kong, Forbidden Planet, the Crazies, First Man on the Moon, Batman (Michael Keaton), Invisible Boy, Westworld, Serenity and more! We had a great time, and highly recommend it to you guys for next year. Check it out at their website: http://www.scifimarathon.com/
Also, I thought we could post about our Gang on the marathon message boards. (Located here: http://www.scifimarathon.com/phpBB2/index.php )Obviously those people who love to watch sci-fi movies would love to read it as well. And if not: they suck!
Anyway, hope you guys are enjoying reading "Good Omens" as much as I am, and I look forward to discussions with you about it in the near future, both in cyber space and at the Kafe Kerouac.

2. The spongy white tissue on the inside of the rind of citrus fruit.

Note: I have always been fascinated by the concept of albedo since I took an astronomy class in undergrad. That, and it's just really fun to say. C'mon, say it with me: albedo. Sorta like "alfredo" but not so bad for you.

So: the first book has been chosen! Please do feel free to post about the book as you are reading, just be sure to use a lj-cut to hide spoilers. Also: for you Columbus gang members: make sure you will still have lots to discuss in person on May 3rd!!
To learn how to use a cut, you can look under the Livejournal FAQ's or wait for Lydie to post a mini tutorial on the subject in the near future.

So if you haven't posted your top three books - do so soon.
